
Pollyanna Gorman, Executive Director, Conductor:
A founding member, Pollyanna’s past positions held were: Music
Director, Assistant Conductor and principal French Horn.
With a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from the University of
North Carolina, Pembroke, Pollyanna stepped into the role of Executive
Director and Principal Conductor in 2006. She currently holds the
positions of Board Member, Personnel Manager and Principal French Horn
with the Southern California Philharmonic and Associate Conductor and
Principal French Horn with the Orange County Preservation Band.
Marcus Zimmer, Membership Director:
Marcus holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Cal State
Fullerton, a Masters Degree in Pastoral Studies and a Masters of Music –
Choral Conducting from
Carol E Franchi, Financial Director:
Carol has worked as an accountant in the business community for over 25
years. Carol has been the Financial Director since the group’s
inception. A founding
member, she maintains the position as section leader for the Flute
section and is a member of several other performing groups.
Barbara Hammond, Historical/Social Director: Barbara holds a Bachelors Degree in
Music Performance from Long Beach State and currently works as a
Substitute Teacher for the Long Beach and ABC Unified School Districts.
Barbara as performed with many groups including the Musical Youth
Artist Repertoire Theatre. A
founding member, Barbara stepped into the role of Historical Director in
2006.
Joe LaRosa,
Marketing Director:
Joe has a Master of Science in
Computer Science. Joe has almost 50 years experience playing in various
bands from elementary school to college and several community bands
throughout Orange County. In addition to being a member of
the Golden West Pops board, he is also serving his second year as
president of the San Juan Hills High School Performing Arts Boosters.
Joe joined the Golden West Pops in 2008.
Frank Heinrichs, Publication Director
Frank holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Southern California
College/Vanguard University.
He is Principal Trumpet and technical consultant to the Golden West
Pops. Frank performs with a variety of groups located throughout the
Southern California area.
Frank joined the Golden West Pops in 2006.
John Maloney, Public Relations Director:
John holds a Bachelor’s degree in Ancient and British History from CSU
Long Beach. He has been a member of the Golden West Pops since 2006 and
serves as liaison between the band and the many veteran, community
service, and fraternal organizations in Orange County.
Jeannene Brennen, Community Relations:
Jeannene is a registered nurse, currently working for the
Veterans Association and is a founding member of the Golden West Pops.
She has a degree from the Medical College of Georgia School of
Nursing. Jeannene supported
the group since its inception and joined the board of directors in 2009.
Heide Palikan, Funding Director:
Heide has an Associate of Arts degree in Purchasing Management from
Fullerton Junior College. She is responsible for researching and
submitting funding requests to augment dues paid by Golden West Pops
members and for-hire performances.
Heide is also the Assistant to the Band.
Heide has been a member of the Golden West Pops since 2005.
